Army’s ’Armed Helicopter Unit’ deployed in DR Congo

Another new contingent of the Bangladesh Army, the 1st batch of 'Bangladesh Armed Helicopter Unit' is going to be deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In response to the invitation of the United Nations headquarters, the Bangladesh Army has completed all the activities of recruiting this contingent to the operational area after preparatory training. This contingent will serve as the first armed helicopter unit of the Bangladesh Army with three state-of-the-art Mi
171 Shah helicopters. It should be noted that six contingents of the
Bangladesh Army, rich in the experience of participating in UN peacekeeping missions for more than three decades, are currently
deployed in the Republic of Congo.
It has been possible to equip the mission contingents withmodern weapons and equipment due to the foresight and sincere efforts of the
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In his recent address to the United
Nations General Assembly, he emphasized on the utmost professionalism
and self-sacrifice in peacekeeping missions. Besides, such challenging
deployments are made possible by the Army Chief's experienced guidance
and military diplomacy.
It is specially mentioned here that behind the achievements of the
Bangladesh Army are the sincerity, tireless hard work, advanced
training and equipment, dedicated efforts, discipline, discipline and
self-sacrifice of the soldiers. Bangladesh Army is always determined
to uphold the reputation earned by Bangladesh and our flag in United
Nations peacekeeping missions and maintain the country's honor and glory through enhanced professionalism and continuous capacity building.
