A training and workshop on scientific fish farming was held in Dinajpur with the aim of increasing production in the fisheries sector and enhancing the skills of local fish farmers. The event took place on Thursday (May 21) at 11:00 AM at the BRAC Learning Center Auditorium in Nashipur, Dinajpur, organized by BRAC Fisheries. A total of 120 fish farmers from various upazilas of Dinajpur participated in the training and workshop. The training covered topics such as pond preparation, water quality management, selection and stocking of high-quality fingerlings, balanced feeding practices, and fish disease prevention and treatment. Participants were also introduced to modern technologies including the use of probiotics, aerators, and IT-based water management systems.
The program was chaired by BRAC Regional Sales Manager Mr. Mominur Rahman. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Tarifur Rahman Sarkar, Dinajpur District Fisheries Officer. Other notable attendees included District Assistant Director (Fisheries) Ms. Purabi Rani Roy, Senior Fisheries Officer of Parbatipur Upazila Mr. Khaled Mosharraf, Hatchery Manager Mr. Ashraful Emran, Accountant Mr. Shamim Ahmed, Product Officer Mr. Atik Ashhab, Sales Officer Mr. Ali Hafez Akash, and Nazmul Hasan, along with local fish farmers.
