
People from Nagarpur's Bhadra village have expressed their joy over Saleh Ahmed Takrim's recent victory in the 26th International Quran Recitation Competition.
The villagers said that Takrim has brought honoured not only for Bhadra or Nagarpur upazila, but the entire district.
Hafiz Takrim, son of Hafiz Abdur Rahman, is a student of the school of Qitab in the Makrazu Faizil Quran Al Islami Dhaka.
Takrim's cousins Hafez Md Asadullah and Mohammad Ahmadullah said: "My brother Takrim went to Dubai on March 20 to take part in the Quran competition. The competition starts from the second Ramadan. The results of the competition were announced last Tuesday night. Takrim won first place. This news made our village people very happy.”
Local people are posting the news of Takrim's win on social media, including Facebook.
Earlier, Takrim participated in several international competitions in Saudi Arabia, Iran and Libya.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Wahiduzzaman said: “We are proud of this success of Takrim. It has brought us such great honor. Earlier, he won a competition in Saudi Arabia. Then he was felicitated by our upazila administration, district and police administration.”
