
South Asian Desk: Sri Lanka has reported 2,730 cases, 11 deaths and 2,041 recoveries from coronavirus in the Saarc regions at 2:40 pm till Tuesday (Bangladesh Time), according to latest data from worldometer. India is the hardest-hit country with 28,099 deaths and 724,702 recoveries from 1,156,189 cases in Saarc regions, the source said. Pakistan is the second worst-hit Saarc regions with 5,639 deaths and 208,030 recoveries from 266,096 cases.Bangladesh is the third hardest-hit country in the regions with 2,709 deaths and 115,397 recoveries from 210,510 cases. So far, the active cases are 92,404 in the country.
Among other COVID-19 affected countries in the Saarc regions, Afghanistan has gone up to 1,186 deaths, followed by Maldives with 15 and Nepal 40 respectively, worldometer reported.
Bhutan has reported no death from coronavirus. A total of 90 cases of corona infection have been detected while 83 patients have been considered recovered in the country.
