The Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended sending Golam Saklain, former additional deputy commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), on compulsory retirement.

The ministry sought the opinion of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) in this regard on June 13.

In a letter to the PSC from the Ministry of Home Affairs, it was said Saklain used to live at Pori Moni's house. And when his wife was absent, Pori Moni used to stay at the official’s house.

On August 7, 2021, DMP withdrew additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Md Golam Saklain from the Gulshan Division of DB on the basis of allegations of unprofessional conduct with actor Pori Moni during an investigation.

Several media reports said Saklain had engaged in unprofessional conduct with Pori Moni while supervising a case filed by the actress on June 13, 2021, against five persons, including businessman Nasir U Mahmud, former president of Uttara Club.

Pori Moni had levelled rape allegations against businessman Nasir U Mahmud.

The next day, Mahmud was arrested from his Uttara residence.

A CCTV video making rounds on social media shows Pori Moni and Saklain getting out of a car together. Shithil was seen going inside the lift with her, carrying a trolley bag.

Another clip showed the duo leaving the building at midnight with the same trolley bag.
