Celebrating Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary and National Children’s Day in Malaysia

The 104th birth anniversary and National Children's Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independent Bangladesh, was celebrated with respect, love and national dignity.Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birthday and National Children's Day were celebrated at the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia on Sunday, March 17.

At the beginning of the ceremony, under the leadership of Md. Shamim Ahsan, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh assigned to the country, first with the participation of the embassy officials and later with the participation of the invited guests and expatriate leaders, wreaths were placed on the portrait of Bangabandhu.After that, High Commissioner Md. Shamim Ahsan officially hoisted the national flag by performing the national anthem with the participation of everyone in the embassy premises.After hoisting the flag, the father of the nation, the martyred members of his family and the valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle prayed for forgiveness and prosperity of Bangladesh.After that, the speech of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Bangladesh was read out on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth anniversary and National Children's Day in the auditorium of the High Commission.At the end of the speech, High Commissioner Md. Shamim Ahsan gave a welcome speech. High Commissioner Md. Shamim Ahsan at the beginning of his speech paid deep respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the martyrs of August 15, 1975. He highlighted Bangabandhu's genuine love for children in his speech.High Commissioner Md. Bangabandhu's visible genuine love for children from childhood reflects how the great leader's political philosophy is reflected in his love for people. Shamim Ahsan sheds light.In this context, he mentioned the activities undertaken by Bangabandhu and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the welfare of children. 
The High Commissioner said, following Bangabandhu's dream of building a 'Golden Bangla', Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to build a prosperous and knowledge-based smart Bangladesh. As a result of his effective actions, Bangladesh has become a country of dynamic economy and potential. Bangladesh's progress in poverty alleviation, women's empowerment, environmental protection, health, education in various social indicators is enviable. Bangladesh today is considered as a role model of development in the world.After the discussion meeting, prizes were distributed among the winners of the painting and writing competition organized by the High Commission on the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day. The High Commissioner and his wife, Pandora Chowdhury cut Bangabandhu's birthday cake with the children.After that, a special documentary on the life and work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was shown.
On the occasion of the Father of the Nation's birthday, the auditorium of the High Commission was decorated in a festive manner. Celebrating Bangabandhu's birthday in exile in the hall attractively decorated with balloons, colorful posters, portraits etc. creates a joyful atmosphere. Finally, balloons are released to celebrate Bangabandhu's Happy Birthday and National Children's Day.Bangladeshi community living in Malaysia and prominent leaders of various socio-cultural organizations and High Commission officials and their children were present in the event. After the ceremony, the High Commissioner participated in the Iftar with the guests.
