Abrar Fahad, a sophomore in the Electrical Engineering department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), tragically died on October 7, 2019.

Sheikh Jisan Ahamed, CEO of Jisu Entertainment, took the initiative to make the short film.

A short film titled ‘Room Number 2011’ is being produced, based on his story.

Jisu Entertainment released a poster of the short film from its Facebook page on Tuesday (September 17).

Jahangirnagar University Student Sheikh Jisan Ahamed, CEO of Jisu Entertainment, took the initiative to make the short film, where 100 students have acted.

“It's coming... "Room Number 2011." Our first original work based on the true event. It will be released simultaneously in Bangladesh and the United States. Gratitude to ‘Aktiful’,” read the post.

Aktiful is a social enterprise organised by some Bangladeshi-American expatriates.

However, there is no mention of Fahad in the poster.

“The short film's post-production work is underway. It is scheduled to release on October 7, the death anniversary of Abrar Fahad,” said Jisan.

“The duration of the short film can be for 25 minutes. It will be released on social media platforms (Facebook and YouTube),” he added.

Abrar's death sparked allegations against some Chhatra League leaders and activists of beating him to death. Students across the country were outraged by the killing. Following the demand, the university banned student politics.
