Aziz Moral, Mongla: From Saturday to Monday (November 28-30), a full moon bath of Hindus will be held at Alorkole in Dublar Char under the Sharankhola Range in the Sundarbans. As per the government guidelines, considering the situation of Kovid-19 and religious sensitivities, on the occasion of the said Rash-Purnima, the Raspuja and Punyasnan festival will be completed with the participation of only the pilgrims from 28th November to 30th November in the morning.
Like every year, it is expected that thousands of Hindu pilgrims will gather this time as well. On this occasion, Bangladesh Coast Guard will always monitor the security of forest resources and wildlife in the Sundarbans as well as the safety of the lives and property of the pilgrims / pilgrims who come to the holy bath. In this context, the Coast Guard and the Forest Department have jointly searched all the boats of the 05 routes approved by the Forest Department for traveling to Dublar Char before the festival. The Coast Guard`s special patrols will continue for a period of time to ensure that these vessels do not prey on wildlife in the Sundarbans and cut down trees illegally. Arrangements will be made for the entry of all the pilgrims after conducting a joint search with the other law enforcement agencies at the entrance of Alorkol area in Dublar Char. At the same time, a diver and a medical team will be on round-the-clock patrol in the area under the supervision of Bangladesh Coast Guard ship Swadhin Bangla. A control room (mobile number-01535889204 and additional-01769444333) has been set up on the ground floor of the Coast Guard station at Dublar Char to deal with any untoward situation quickly. Capt. M Habib-ul-Alam, Zonal Commander, Coast Guard West Zone, said that maximum security measures would be taken in coordination with RAB, Forest Department, Naval Police and other law enforcement agencies besides the Coast Guard`s own preparations for the Ras Purnima celebrations.
