Swift, Kelce donate $26m to charities ahead of reported wedding

Pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have donated $26 million to at least 20 charities across the United States this week, amid reports that the couple are set to marry in New York this weekend.

According to Variety, a representative confirmed the donations but made no reference to the widely reported wedding plans. Swift and Kelce have also not publicly confirmed that they are preparing to tie the knot.

The announcement simply stated that the couple had donated $26 million to charities across the United States before listing the beneficiary organisations.

The donations support a wide range of causes. They include nine food banks, an animal welfare organisation, seven education programmes and three children’s hospitals. Among the beneficiaries are City Harvest, Food Bank For NYC, New York Cares, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters – The Community Food Network in Kansas City, The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Feeding America.

The charitable contributions also include support for the ASPCA, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Grammy In The Schools, Education Through Music, Answer The Call, Musical Mentors, and After-School All-Stars programmes in New York and Cleveland.

The three children’s healthcare organisations receiving donations are MSK Kids at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Although the announcement did not mention the reported wedding, the donations come as speculation continues to grow over the couple’s plans for a ceremony later this week.
