The tri-annual election of the Dinajpur District Branch of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) for the 2026–2028 term concluded peacefully, with all candidates elected unopposed as each position had a single nominee in the final list. The results were officially announced by Engineer Md. Nurul Huda, Chief Election Commissioner of the Dinajpur GENEC Election Management Committee 2026–2028. Engineer Md. Minarul Islam Khan, Executive Engineer of Dinajpur Municipality, was elected President, while Monjur Murshed Sumon, Assistant Secretary for Publicity and Publications of Dinajpur District BNP and Director of the Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was elected General Secretary.
Other elected office-bearers include Vice Presidents Md. Masud Rana and Md. Sajiul Islam, Manager of Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Limited; Joint Secretary Md. Habibur Rahman; Treasurer G. N. Bhattacharya; Organizing Secretary Md. Aminul Hasan; Employment Affairs Secretary Md. Momin; Library and Office Secretary Md. Forhad Ali; Public Relations and Publicity Secretary Md. Humayun Kabir; Literature, Culture and Publications Secretary Md. Layek Ali; Social Welfare Secretary Md. Golam Rabbani; Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Md. Nazmur Hasan Lemon; Research and ICT Secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam; Women and Family Affairs Secretary Arzuman Layla; Education and Training Secretary Niroza Shapla; and Student Affairs Secretary Md. Taimur Hossain.
The elected executive members are Md. Afsar, Md. Mostakim Akand, Md. Jahangir Alam, and Md. Mobamber Rashed, while the elected councillors are Md. Matiur Rahman, A. I. M. Mizanur Rahman, Lutful Huda Chowdhury, Md. Nazrul Islam, Dewan Md. Rezaul Karim, Md. Zafar Sadeq, Siddiqur Zzaman, and Md. Abul Kalam Azad. Engineer Md. Mozzafor Hossain and Engineer Rabindra Nath Roy served as Election Commissioners during the election process. The newly elected committee is expected to play an active role in strengthening professional unity and promoting the welfare and advancement of diploma engineers in the Dinajpur region.
