This information was announced on Thursday (October 22) in a notification signed by Mst. Razia Sultana, President of the Bank's Election Committee and Upazila Cooperative Officer of Shajahanpur.
The notification stated that no candidates withdrew their nomination by the scheduled withdrawal deadline on October 22. Consequently, as per the decision of the 7th meeting of the Election Committee, valid candidates with no competing contestants for the same posts were declared elected uncontested, subject to approval at the general meeting to be held on October 29.
In addition, Md. Obaidur Rahman was elected as Vice President, while Nazrul Islam and Abdul Baset were elected as members. During the scrutiny process for member positions, the nomination papers of Md. Moinul Haq and Md. Badiuzzaman Badsha were canceled.
According to the election schedule, one candidate per designated post collected nomination papers by the scheduled dates of September 29 and 30, 2026. Following the cancellation of candidacy for two member posts, standard regulations allow those positions to be filled later through co-option.
Previously, Khan Rubel served as the elected Chairman from 2005 to 2008 and from 2008 to 2011. He also served his third term as Chairman during the interim government's tenure.
The Election Committee 2026 for Cooperative Bank Ltd., Bogura included Mohammad Azadul Islam, Field Inspector at the District Cooperative Office Bogura, and Md. Ruhul Amin, Assistant Inspector at the Bogura Sadar Upazila Cooperative Office, as members.
