Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu spoke to journalists after inaugurating the new administrative building and hall room at Rajarhat Upazila Complex, Kurigram.
Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, has said initiatives are underway to rectify irregularities within the state machinery, as various sectors had become dysfunctional over the past 17 years.
“Due to prolonged operational lapses, irregularities, corruption and inconsistencies still persist at various levels of the administration. The government is taking steps to resolve these issues after identifying them,” he said.
He said this while responding to questions from journalists after inaugurating the new administrative building and hall room at the Rajarhat Upazila Complex in Rajarhat upazila town of Kurigram district today, said a PID press release.
The minister noted that the prolonged disruption of state institutions and departments had affected various levels of the administration. Consequently, it is not possible to eliminate the existing inconsistencies and irregularities overnight.
Regarding the development of Kurigram district, the minister said the government attaches special importance to the district.
He said the government is paying special attention to the socio-economic development of the people of Kurigram district as various projects have been undertaken to create employment opportunities and alleviate poverty.
Officials and employees of the Upazila Parishad, as well as leaders and activists of the Kurigram district and Rajarhat upazila BNP, were present on the occasion.
