DUAAM to hold mega event in Malaysia: Outstanding participants to be honored

Dhaka University Alumni Association Malaysia (DUAM) is going to organize a mega event. And through this event, outstanding teachers, students and professionals will be honoured, said the organizers.Next April 28, the program will be held at Club Aman in Kuala Lumpur.

To make the program a success, a press conference and iftar party was organized at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (March 21st). The official announcement of this upcoming program was made by the leaders of the organizing organization DUAAM in the press conference. Organizing committee convenor Suraiya Nahar Yasmin and member secretary Alamgir Chowdhury Akash answered various questions of journalists and invited guests at the press conference.The press conference was attended by Professor Dr. International Islamic University Malaysia. Zahurul Islam, Duam Vice President Mohammad Ibrahim and Event Management Committee members Zillur Rahman, Ariz Wolfi Mithun, Samrat Safiullah, Rebecca Sultana Zerin, Fawzia, Aparna, Niaz Makhtum, Dr. Sohela Mostari, Ismat Jahan Ishita, Anika Islam Arpa, Mohammad Deepu, Dr. Khaled Hossain, Hasanul Bari and Mohammad Asaduzzaman Jummon.Organizers said, April 28, this event will continue from 3.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

The main objective of the program is to encourage Bangladeshis in Malaysia who have been making outstanding contributions to education and community development and brightening the image of Bangladesh and branding a positive Bangladesh to all. Organizers said that apart from Bangladeshi VIPs, Malaysian VIP guests will be present at the event. Through this program, the contribution of extraordinary Bangladeshis will be highlighted in front of everyone.

According to the press conference, those who are finally selected in the program divided into three categories will be given crests and certificates. The categories are teachers, students and professionals and businessmen.It is confirmed by the organizers, for the transparency of the selection process, an evaluation committee consisting of professors from various universities has been formed and the entire selection process will be completed by the committee members. Teacher and professional selection process is already underway. However, the Google form for selecting the best students will be released this week and students studying in Malaysia can apply.

The press conference also informed that since the program will be held in the month of Baisakh, there will be cultural programs to celebrate Baisakh where Bangladeshi students from various universities in Malaysia and expatriate Bangladeshis will perform. Since its establishment, the organization has been doing various social works. Every year from the organization's own funds, admission assistance and scholarships are provided to poor meritorious students. Also, the neglected and helpless people of the society have been regularly helping. The organization is going to organize such a big event for the first time.
