Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today fixed Jet A-1 (jet fuel) price for domestic and international airlines at Tk 182.71 and $1.1882 per litre respectively.
The new prices came into effect from midnight on October 7, according to a circular issued by the regulatory commission.
BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar issued the circular, saying the prices were fixed considering the Platts rates from September 5 to October 4, 2026.
The BERC held a public hearing today under Sections 34(4) and 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, based on proposals submitted by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
The commission adjusted the October prices after considering the Platts rates of Jet A-1 during the period from September 5 to October 4, along with the US dollar exchange rate applicable to BPC's letter of credit (LC) settlements and other relevant costs.
A committee formed by the BERC to review and adjust the monthly price of Jet A-1 submitted its report for October, taking into account international Platts rates, the US dollar exchange rate and changes in transportation costs.
