The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for Saturday in districts under the Chattogram Education Board have been postponed due to the worsening flood situation and adverse weather conditions. In a notice issued on Friday, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said the HSC, Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma-in-Commerce examinations scheduled for 11 July have been postponed in the affected districts under the Chattogram Education Board.
The decision was taken following reports from district administrations and a request from the Chattogram Education Board’s examination controller, as flooding and severe weather disrupted normal activities in several areas. According to the notice, examinations under the Chattogram Education Board, Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board in the affected districts have been postponed. The revised schedule for the postponed examinations will be announced later.
Examinations under other education boards and in districts not affected by the flood situation will continue according to the previously announced schedule, the notice added. The notice, signed by Prof Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, instructed relevant authorities to take necessary steps to inform students and ensure proper implementation of the decision.
