A month-long cricket training camp aimed at skill development and nurturing talented young cricketers has successfully concluded in Nilphamari. Certificates and awards were distributed among the participating young players at a ceremony organized by the 'Nazrul Smriti Cricket Academy'. The closing and prize distribution ceremony took place on Tuesday (August 4) afternoon at the Nilphamari District Stadium.
District Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman attended the event as the chief guest and distributed certificates to the outstanding trainees. Among others present at the event were Additional District Commissioner (General) Nujhat Tasneem Aown, Bangladesh national cricket team player Rishad Hossain, Member Secretary of the District Sports Association Advocate Abu Mohammad Soyem, District Sports Officer Abul Hashem, General Secretary of the Referees Association Bhuban Mohan Tarafder, former Bangladesh national football team player Md. Abu Sayeed, Head Coach of Nazrul Cricket Academy Arman Ali, and Rangpur Division Coach Masud Parvez Rajon.
Manjurul Alam Shuvo, General Secretary of Nazrul Cricket Academy, shared that this month-long training camp—held for the first time at the Nilphamari District Stadium—began on July 3 and concluded on August 4. A total of 60 budding cricketers participated in the program. The primary objective of organizing this training was to develop proficient cricketers and raise the standard of cricket at the district level.
During the ceremony, District Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman presented cricket balls as special gifts to Md. Tamim Islam, Md. Mubashir Ferdous Mahid, and Md. Toukir Ahmed—three players who won 'Man of the Match' titles among the eight cricketers from Nilphamari Collectorate Public School and College who participated at the national level of the Prime Bank National School Cricket.
