A day-long 'Job Fair' was held today, September 17, at the Nilphamari Technical Training Center (TTC) with an aim to expand technical education and empower the youth of the northern region to become self-reliant. In the morning, Niaz Bhuiyan, Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, officially inaugurated the job fair in a festive atmosphere on the Nilphamari Government Technical Training Center premises.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Acting Principal of TTC Masud Rana, former General Secretary of Nilphamari Press Club Nur Alam, TTC Chief Instructor Mashiur Rahman, Instructor Abdul Matin, Instructor Rezwan Hossain, along with other teachers of the institution. Financed by the 'Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program', the TTC premises came alive from the morning with the presence of thousands of job-seeking young men and women who traveled from various remote corners of the Nilphamari district. Participating candidates received the opportunity to directly submit their CVs and attend interviews with representatives of renowned national organizations right within their home district.
A total of 10 leading national industrial and corporate organizations participated in this year's job fair to collect resumes and conduct walk-in interviews. Prominent among the participating entities were PRAN-RFL Group, Section Seven International Limited, Sonic Bangladesh Limited, Uttara Sweater Manufacturing Limited, Abhijat Group, Gold Manufacture BD Limited, Classical Handicrafts, Ayesha Abed Foundation, Smile Arts Limited, and Neelsagar Group. Regarding the event, TTC Acting Principal Masud Rana stated that out of 3,000 applications received in previous job fairs, employment was successfully secured for 2,000 candidates. Building on that milestone, they are working this year with a target to generate employment opportunities for at least 2,500 unemployed youths. He emphasized that TTC's primary objective is to enhance local youth skills while regularly creating employment avenues through such job fairs. Plans are underway to organize future job fairs on an even larger scale so that more reputed institutions can join and play a visible role in eradicating local unemployment.
Currently, around 650 students are undertaking training across various trades in this human resource development institution. Although there are only 11 instructors against requirement, students are continuing their training in a highly disciplined and supportive environment, overcoming all operational constraints. Playing a vital role in curbing unemployment, the institution will soon open new admissions for the 1st and 2nd shifts across various trades, stepping up efforts to equip the region's youth with technical education for self-reliance.
