Sayed Akhter Yusuf Joined The South Asian Times as Editor-in-Chief

Syed Akhter Yusuf, a prominent journalist in Bangladesh, has joined at "The South Asian Times" as Editor-in-Chief recently. Prior to his joining he worked for the 'newsiportbd.com' as Advisory Editor. In his 52-year career in Journalism, Mr. Yusuf started his career at the Daily Azad as a Staff Reporter in 1973. He also worked for the “Daily Shokaler Khobor” as Joint Editor, and in the Daily Ittefaq as Chief Reporter. He is known as a prominent journalist leader in Bangladesh media. He was elected as treasurer of the National Press Club (NPC) in 1986. 

In addition to journalism career, he is involved in various social and research institutes. Currently, he is the vice president of Nazrul Academy. He is also the advisor of Benuka Lalitkala Kendra and the President of the Greater Cumilla Journalist Forum in Dhaka. 

He played a significant role in the movement of the uprising in 1969 and the great liberation war of 1971. He completed a master's degree from the Journalism Department of Dhaka University.
