No local development work will be left incomplete: Dulu

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that he does not wish to leave any development work incomplete in his electoral area.

“Various development initiatives have already been planned for the area, with several projects already underway,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the development work for the Barabari GC-Kulaghat Union Parishad road on the Barohat Kali Mandir premises under Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat this afternoon.

The 945-meter-long road is being developed under the supervision of the Lalmonirhat Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) at a cost of Taka 10,731,000, a PID press release said here tonight.

The minister said that the development of this road was prioritized in response to a long-standing demand from the local community.

He mentioned that the road leading to the Barohat Kali Mandir on the Barabari GC-Kulaghat Union Parishad road had been in poor condition for a long time.

“Today’s inauguration of the development work for the Barabari GC-Kulaghat Union Parishad road fulfills a long-held aspiration of the local residents,” he said, adding that the nearby road from Kulaghat High School to Belervita has also been renovated.

Regarding efforts to curb erosion along the Dharla River, the minister announced that a project has been approved to construct embankments to protect the riverbanks and alleviate the hardships faced by those living nearby in the area.

“Implementation of this project will begin soon,” he said, and sought cooperation of all in the area's development and encouraged locals to inform him of any needs or issues they may have.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining religious harmony, peace, and goodwill, the minister stated that it is everyone’s responsibility to uphold the sanctity of all places of worship, including temples and mosques, and to contribute to their development.

He expressed his hope that, with the cooperation and blessings of all, they could work together toward the development of the area.

Executive Engineer of the Lalmonirhat LGED Md Akhtaruzzaman, Sadar Upazila Engineer Md Insaphul Haque Sarkar, and the Chairman of Kulaghat Union Parishad Md Idris Ali, local leaders of the Puja Celebration Committee and devotees from the Hindu community were present.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated the new building of 'Swocchar Sangsad' in the Barobari area under Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat.
