A day-long "Hemoglobin" Blood Grouping Campaign was successfully held today, Tuesday, July 21 (2026), at 11:00 AM at Chilahati Merchants High School in Domar, Nilphamari. The blood testing campaign was organized with the theme "Humanity's noble gift, saving lives by donating blood," aiming to raise awareness about blood donation and determine blood groups.
Organized by the Upazila Administration, Domar, and overall supported and managed by the District Council, Nilphamari, the event was presided over by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Domar, Ms. Shayla Sayeed Tonwi.
The Deputy Commissioner (Joint Secretary) of Nilphamari, Mr. Mohammad Nayiruzzaman, was present as the chief guest at the campaign. Special guests who delivered speeches included the Administrator of the District Council, Mr. Mijanur Rahman Chowdhury, and the Civil Surgeon of Nilphamari, Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak. Also present were Reyajul Islam Kalu, Joint Convenor of Nilphamari District BNP, along with local BNP leaders.
In their speeches, the guests stated that knowing one's blood group in a timely manner plays an extremely crucial role during emergencies or medical treatment. They praised such initiatives for encouraging students as well as the general public toward voluntary blood donation. Following the inaugural session, free blood grouping services were provided to the students of Chilahati Merchants High School and local residents by experienced health workers. Local dignitaries, teachers, students, and representatives of civil society were present at the event.
