Govt promotes 69 judges

SAT DESK : The government has promoted 11 additional district and sessions judges as district and sessions judges.

Besides, 58 joint district judges have been promoted to the posts of additional district and sessions judges.

Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued separate gazette notifications in this regard on Monday.

The district and sessions judges will be eligible for salaries and benefits as per grade 1 of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Salary (salary) Order 2016 while additional district and sessions judges for grade 2.

The promotees will have to handover current charge to the controlling authorities or immediate subordinates and join the new office within June 27 places work stations.

The judges who are on leave or in training will have to join new workplace after the periods of leave and training are over.

Bogra additional district and sessions judge Israt Jahan have been made Rangpur human trafficking prevention tribunal, Manikganj additional district and sessions judge Sahana Haque Siddika as Tangail special judge,  Natore chief judicial magistrate Md Golam Faruk as Barisal cyber tribunal judge, Habiganj chief judicial magistrate Tania Kamal as Manikganj women and children repression prevention judge, Jhenaidah chief judicial magistrate Md Hasanuzzaman as Rajshahi women and children repression prevention judge, Dhaka metropolitan sessions judge Mst Roksana Begum Happy has been posted as Gazipur women and children repression prevention tribunal judge, Gazipur chief judicial magistrate Md Ashraful Alam as director of National Human Rights Commission, Naogaon additional district and sessions judge Md Mehdi Hasan Talukder as Panchagarh women and children repression prevention tribunal judge, Brahmanbaria additional district and session judge Sabera Sultana Khan as Mymensingh special judge, Feni chief judicial magistrate Md Abdur Rahim as Cox’s Bazar women and children repression prevention tribunal judge.

Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Commission director Zakir Hossain has been promoted from additional district and sessions judge to district and sessions judge. But his workplace will remain intact.
