
The National Consumer Rights Protection Department conducted an operation drive in Akhaura, Brahmanbaria to control the market price of goods during the holy month of Ramadan. A poultry chicken trader and three grocery shopkeepers were fined of Tk 6000 in the operation.
The drive was conducted by Mehdi Hasan, assistant director of Brahmanbaria district of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department. Upazila Sanitary and Safe Food Inspector Md. Rafiqul Islam was also present at the time.
Mehedi Hasan, Assistant Director of Brahmanbaria District of National Consumer Rights Protection Department, said that they were fined as a precaution for not displaying the correct price list of the products in the shop and for not showing the sales receipt. He also said that the campaign against anti-consumer activities will continue.
