The two-day 47th National Science and Technology Week has commenced with great enthusiasm in Nilphamari. Organized by the District Administration, the festival is being held at the Nilphamari Government College premises under the theme "Science and Technology for Building an Innovation-Driven Bangladesh."
On Monday morning (April 27), the Chief Guest of the program, District Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman, formally inaugurated the week by releasing colorful balloons. Following the inauguration, he visited the stalls of young scientists from 32 participating educational institutions and interacted with the students regarding their innovative projects.
Earlier, a special discussion meeting was held at the college auditorium, presided over by the Additional District Commissioner (Education and ICT), Mehedi Morshed. Speaking as the Chief Guest, District Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman said, "The science-based innovations presented by our young students will play a vital role in building a Digital and Smart Bangladesh and moving the country forward. We are optimistic that the talented students of this district will leave their mark of excellence and bring honor to the district at the national level."
The event was also attended by special guests, including the Principal of Nilphamari Government College, A.K.M. Siddiqur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Faruk Ahmed, Vice-Principal Golam Mostafa, and Assistant District Education Officer Wadud Ahmed. The program was moderated by Maruf Khan, Chairman of MSDF.
It is noteworthy that students from the best 32 educational institutions across the six upazilas of the district are showcasing various science and technology-related innovations at the fair. The event has drawn a large gathering of teachers, students, and science enthusiasts at the college premises. The two-day fair will continue until tomorrow.
