Hakim Mostafizur Rahman Sabuj elected vice-president

A social worker of Nilphamari named Hakim Mostafizur Rahman Sabuj was elected a vice-president of the World Unani Foundation Bangladesh. Accordingly, an investiture ceremony of the newly formed executive committee and a discussion meeting titled ‘Sustainable development of Unani Medicine through knowledge practice, publications, and global cooperation’ was held at the Hakim Habibur Rahman Unani Medical College auditorium in capital with the aim of expanding research, publications, education, and international cooperation in Unani medical science in Bangladesh.  
 
Presided over by the newly elected president of the World Unani Foundation Bangladesh professor A. K. M. Mahbubur Rahman Saki, while, Dr. Md. Israfil, Professor of the Department of Urdu at Dhaka University attended the event as the chief guest. 
 
The programme was attended among other special guests, Dr. Sardar Md. Ruhul Amin, Controller of Examinations at the Bangladesh Board of Unani and Ayurvedic Systems of Medicine and so on.
 
The program was inaugurated with reading from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome speech delivered by the newly elected Secretary General of the organization, Hakim Md. Ruhul Amin.
 
Among those participating in the discussion were vice presidents of the organization Hakim Nripendranath Bairagi, Hakim Md. Kamrul Islam Nababati, Hakim Dr. Abdul Gani, and Hakim Mostafizur Rahman Sabuj, Hakim Shah Alam Bhuiyan, Dr. Zahidur Rahman, Dr. Golam Azam Khan, Hakim Yahya Munna, Hakim Nuruzzaman, Hakim Nasir Uddin Kabir, Hakim Bakawali Miah, and Hakim Elias and so on. 
 
The discussants emphasized the sustainable development of Unani medicine through research, high-quality publications, skilled human resource development, raising public awareness, and expanding global cooperation. They also called upon the newly elected committee to transform the organization into a more dynamic, research-oriented, and public welfare-driven institution.
 
Meanwhile, the major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the cover for the second issue of the magazine ‘Al-Hijama’, published under the organization's sponsorship.
 
However, speakers expressed optimism that ‘Al-Hijama’ would play a vital role in research-based knowledge sharing, standard Unani publications in Bengali, and boosting the global acceptance of Unani medicine.
 
Journalists from different print and electronic media were also present at the programme.
