Fugitive Accused ’Sahas’ Arrested in Lotto Showroom Manager Pintu Murder Case in Bogura

According to the case statement, the victim, Pintu Akond (38), had been working as the manager at Taufiq Elahi Sujan's Lotto showroom in Khondokar Market near C.O. Office Intersection in Dupchanchia Upazila, Bogura, for about three years. On December 22, 2025, around 9:00 PM, while he was organizing and cleaning the store after daily sales to close up, 6 to 7 unidentified miscreants entered the showroom. After a brief argument, they forcibly dragged the victim and threw him into a white HiAce microbus parked in front of the shop. Hearing his screams, locals rushed to the spot, but the perpetrators abducted him and sped away towards the Naogaon road from the C.O. Office Intersection.
Upon receiving the news, the victim's family arrived at the scene and began investigating. CCTV footage revealed that the registration number of the white HiAce microbus was Dhaka Metro Cha-15-3268. During their search, the family learned that the abductees had suffocated the victim to death inside the microbus and fled, leaving the body on the north side of Tofazzal Hossain's pond along the paved road from Komorbhog to Komorpur in the Chhatiangram Union of Adamdighi Upazila, Bogura. Upon reaching the location, the victim was found lying with white scotch tape covering his nose and mouth, his hands raised upwards, and a small amount of blood oozing from his nose. It is believed that the victim was strangled to death at some point prior to 11:50 PM on December 22, 2025.
On information, the police arrived at the scene, prepared the inquest report, and sent the body to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. Following the incident, the victim's wife filed a murder case with Dupchanchia Police Station (Case No. 14, Date: 23/12/2025, Sections 364/302/34 of the Penal Code, 1860). The unidentified accused had been on the run ever since.
To unravel the mystery behind the incident, SRB-12 CPSC Bogura launched an investigation. As part of the probe, intelligence surveillance was intensified on several suspects identified through eye-witnesses and police sources. Consequently, based on secret information, an operational team from SRB-12, CPSC Bogura Camp, with the assistance of SRB-5, CPC-3 Joypurhat Camp, conducted a raid yesterday night (October 16) at a rented house belonging to Sarwar in Dakshin Dulalpara (Ward No. 1) under Mohadevpur Police Station in Naogaon district.
