An allegation has been raised against Mst. Lovely Khatun, a mother of two and wife of a Dubai expatriate, for absconding with her extramarital lover, Azizul (a mason), taking \text{BDT } 5,00,000 in cash and 5 bhoris of gold ornaments from her house in Nandigram, Bogura. Following the incident, the expatriate’s brother, Kamruzzaman, filed a formal complaint at the Nandigram Police Station. According to the complaint, Lovely Khatun is the daughter of the late Nayeb Ali from Singjani (Panch Pukur) village in Nandigram Upazila. Twenty years ago, she was married to Shakil Hossain (also known as Kabil), son of the late Abu Kashem from Chakran Adhkhola village in the same upazila, who is currently working in Dubai. Over their 20 years of conjugal life, they have been blessed with two sons. The complaint states that in the early hours of October 13, she vanished from her husband's home with her lover.
The report details that late on the night of October 13, Lovely Khatun left with Azizul, a mason and son of Irfan Hossain from Kamullya village in the same upazila. She is accused of taking \text{BDT } 5,00,000 in cash, 5 bhoris of gold jewelry, and other valuable items from the house. Kabil has been working in Dubai for a long time to ensure financial stability and a brighter future for his children. Azizul developed a close acquaintance with Lovely Khatun while working as a mason on construction tasks at expatriate Kabil’s home, which eventually blossomed into an extramarital affair. When the matter came to light, Kabil and their two children urged Lovely Khatun to step away from the relationship. However, the duo continued their contact regardless. On the night of October 13, leaving her two children behind, Lovely Khatun eloped with Azizul. Meanwhile, it has been learned that Azizul also has a family with a son and a daughter of his own.
This incident has left the two children facing severe familial uncertainty. Family members stated that the children do not wish to return to their mother anymore. Their primary demand is the retrieval of their father's hard-earned money, gold jewelry, and valuable belongings. Relatives shared that this ordeal has caused deep anxiety for Kabil, who spent years abroad dreaming of building a secure future for his family.
A complaint regarding the matter has been lodged with the Nandigram Police Station, and police have reportedly visited the spot to investigate.
