Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase gold prices in the country’s market. This time, the price of the best quality 22‑carat gold has been raised by Tk6,590 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk224,940. The announcement came in a notice issued on Saturday by BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.
According to the notice, the price of pure gold (acid gold) has fallen in the local market. Considering the overall situation, new rates have been fixed, effective from 10am Saturday. Under the new prices, per bhori (11.664 grams) of 22‑carat gold will cost Tk224,940. The price of 21‑carat gold has been set at Tk214,734 per bhori, 18‑carat gold at Tk184,058 per bhori, and traditional method gold at Tk149,882 per bhori. Earlier, on 11 June, BAJUS last adjusted gold prices, reducing Tk4,432 per bhori. At that time, the price of 22‑carat gold was set at Tk218,350 per bhori. The rates for 21‑carat, 18‑carat, and traditional gold were Tk208,436, Tk178,692, and Tk145,508 per bhori respectively. Those prices took effect from 10am that day.
So far this year, BAJUS has adjusted gold prices 74 times with 38 increases and 36 decreases. In 2025, gold prices were adjusted 93 times, with 64 hikes and 29 cuts.
