As part of the central program of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, a two-day dengue prevention awareness and cleanliness campaign 2026 has commenced at Nilphamari Government College, organized by the college unit of Chhatra Dal.
During the drive, waste was cleared across various departments, administrative buildings, adjacent messes, and surrounding areas of the campus. To prevent mosquito breeding and curb the spread of dengue, larvicide spraying was conducted alongside providing awareness guidelines to general students.
Sulaiman Ali, Associate Professor of the Department of Islamic History and Culture at the college, was present during the program.
Speaking at the campaign, Payeluzzaman Roxy, Convener of Nilphamari Government College Chhatra Dal, said, "Along with academics, ensuring health safety and a secure environment for students is also our responsibility. Dengue cases have risen due to climate change and seasonal rainfall. This cleanliness drive by Chhatra Dal aims to protect general students from the risk of dengue."
Firoz Ahmed Saikat, Senior Joint Convener, and Raisul Islam Rana, Member Secretary of Nilphamari Government College Chhatra Dal, were present and provided overall guidance. Additionally, leaders and activists from various levels of the college unit, along with general students, actively participated in the drive.
Leaders further stated that this social initiative was undertaken following central directives to ensure a safe and healthy campus for students. Nilphamari Government College Chhatra Dal will continue to play a leading role on campus and on the streets for student welfare and public service in the future.
