People’s Aspirations Will Be the Law of Tomorrow: Engr. Tuhin in Nilphamari

Engineer Shahrin Islam Chowdhury Tuhin, Central Convener of the Engineers Association of Bangladesh (EAB) and former Member of Parliament, has stated that the country's legal and administrative systems will now be governed by reflecting the will of the people, putting an end to the autocratic mindsets of the past. He said, "In the past, whatever the Awami League government said was forcibly imposed on the people as law. But those days are over. Our leader Tarique Rahman is demonstrating to the nation that in a true democracy, whatever the general public wants and demands will be the actual law. He made these remarks as the chief guest at a ceremony held on Sunday (May 31) noon at the Nilphamari Zila Parishad premises, where stipends and various educational and support materials were distributed among students. Under the revenue allocation for the 2024-25 fiscal year of the Zila Parishad and various development projects, financial assistance was distributed to students along with bicycles, wheelchairs, ceiling fans, tube wells, and sports equipment.

Emphasizing the political awareness of the greater Rangpur region, Engineer Tuhin said, "The people of Bogura or Dinajpur possess a certain level of political awareness, whereas the people of our region are still lagging behind or remain unaware in many aspects. However, this lack of awareness will not persist. In the coming days, the people of this region will become much more aware and vocal in establishing their rights. Highlighting the importance of local government elections to maintain the momentum of development, the former MP added, "If we can elect qualified and people-friendly representatives in the future, it will be possible to effectively realize the demands of the public. With qualified leadership, securing necessary development projects and allocations from ministers or even the Prime Minister is not a difficult task. Everyone must unite to establish that rightful claim for the people of Nilphamari. Presided over by Advocate Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury Shamim, Administrator of the Zila Parishad, the welcome speech was delivered by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, Md. Saidul Islam. Tamanna Yasmin was present as a special guest at the event.
Following the formal discussion, the chief guest planted a commemorative sapling on the Zila Parishad premises. Later, he inaugurated the construction work of the modern rest house (Dak Bungalow) of the Zila Parishad and inspected the proposed site for the Zila Parishad School and College.

Among others, the event was attended by Mir Selim Faruk, Convener of District BNP; Sohel Parvez, Senior Joint Convener; Reazul Islam Kalu, Joint Convener; Zahurul Alam, former General Secretary; Abu Md. Soyem, GP of District Judge Court; Rahedul Islam Dolon, former President of Sadar Upazila BNP; Kazi Akhteruzzaman Jewel, former General Secretary; Mahbubur Rahman Mahbub, former President of Poura BNP; and Advocate Al Masud Chowdhury, former General Secretary, along with local leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliate organizations.
