526 Pooja mandaps in Netrakona

Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Sanatan religions, is knocking at the door. Around this festival, idols, pandals and gates are being constructed at 526 mandaps of ten upazilas in Netrakona district. Maximum preparations have been made by the administration and the police to keep the law and order situation normal on the occasion.
District Puja Udjapon Parishad President Gyanesh Chandra Sarkar and General Secretary Liton Pandit informed that at least 526 Durga pujas are being organized in private, permanent temples and temporary mandaps in ten upazilas of the district this year. There are 56 puja mandaps in Netrakona municipality, 58 in Sadar upazila, 61 in Durgapur, 43 in Mohanganj, 52 in Barhatra, 39 in Atpara, 14 in Madan, 42 in Khaliajuri, 48 in Kendua, 58 in Purvadhala and 55 in Kalmakanda upazila.
Netrokona Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anjana Khan Majlish said that the administration along with police are ready to celebrate Durga Puja safely and peacefully. Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Faiz Ahmed said, the law enforcement forces are always alert to properly observe their respective religions. District Puja Celebration Parishad leaders have been asked to install CCTV cameras in every mandap for security and to avoid chaos. In order to maintain law and order and maintain normal situation on the occasion of peaceful puja celebrations, uniformed police as well as police in white will have increased vigilance. He also said that the police are already working in the field to avoid all kinds of chaos.
A veiw exchange meeting organized by the Superintendent of Police was held recently to ensure smooth Durga Puja. The meeting was attended by the officials of the Islamic Foundation, Imams of the mosques and leaders of the Puja Celebration Council. In the meeting, the leaders of the puja celebration committee were instructed to keep generators in emergency situations through various committees under their own management, to form volunteers, to arrange entry and exit through separate lines for men and women, to stop the sound of Azaan and prayers to maintain religious harmony, and to keep fire control cylinders in every mandap. Directions are provided.
Municipal Mayor Alhaj Nazrul Islam Khan said that our volunteer force is ready to control traffic in the municipal city on the occasion of peaceful Puja celebrations. 
Apart from this, full cooperation will be given from the municipality in organizing the puja.
It was known that, the main ceremony of Sharidiya Durgotsara will be held on October 2 through Shasti Puja. On October 5th, Goddess Durga will depart through Immersion of the idols.
