With the objective of flourishing the merit, intellect, and creativity of primary school students, as well as encouraging them in co-curricular activities, the National Primary Education Medal Competition and Prize Distribution Ceremony has been held in Nilphamari. The day-long competition was organized by the District Primary Education Office on Saturday (June 7) at the Nilphamari Government High School ground.
Presided over by the Acting District Primary Education Officer Rabiul Islam, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Nayiruzzaman was present as the chief guest at the event.
Speaking at the function, the guests emphasized that institutional education alone is not enough; sports and cultural activities are irreplaceable for the mental development of children and for grooming them as worthy citizens. Such initiatives will play a vital role in unleashing the hidden talents of these tender-hearted students. In this day-long vibrant event, selected top students from different upazilas of the district participated in various sports, cultural, and educational categories. At the end of the competition, prizes were distributed among the winners.
The event was also attended by special guests, including Md. Mehedi Murshed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Jachijul Alam Mondal, Sadar Upazila Education Officer Mir Selim Faruk, Convenor of District BNP Mostafa Prodhan Haq Bachhu, Joint Convenor of District BNP Local education officers, teachers, students, and media personnel were also present at the program.
