Locals suffering due to not develop a road in 10 years

Kajal Arjya, Tangail Correspondent
Due to a road, more than 8000 people are suffering for a long time. Even in 10 years, a touch of development is needed here. Aggrieved people are blaming the negligence of local public representatives. They demanded the government to quickly build new paved roads.
Malti, a large village in the upazila, has a voter of 3,502 and a population of over 8,000. This main road goes from the bridge on the north side to the south side inside the village. Its length is about 3 km. Thousands of people travel through the road every day. Numerous people from the neighboring villages of Gharia, Nardahi, Bhaual, Deupur and Nagarbari travel constantly. Malti village has a government primary school, a community clinic, a madrasa, a market, a large mosque, Eidgaon grounds and a graveyard.
It can be seen on the ground - the main road in the village has become completely unfit for traffic. The road has been narrowed on both sides. Vans, auto-rickshaws and motorcycles are not allowed on potholed roads. Private car owners leave their cars elsewhere and go home. When it rains, the road sometimes gets knee-deep in potholes. Even walking is difficult then. Due to the difficulty of commuting, the number of patients in community clinics is low. There is no one to listen to the cries of the victims.
Jasmin Jahan, Headmistress of Malti Government Primary School, told Kal Kantha that it is difficult for young students to come to school. When it rains, children slip and get hurt. New roads are urgently needed here.
Jahangir Alam, general secretary of Narandia Union Awami League, said that he wishes to see the appropriate authorities of the government to remove the sufferings of the people. So that new roads are constructed here quickly for public interest.
Former chairman of Narandia Union Parishad, Mohar Ali, said that I cannot go home with my car. As a result, I am forced to walk home constantly.
Executive Engineer of Tangail LGED Rafiqul Islam said that the road will be constructed soon if the road is approved in Malti village of Kalihati to alleviate the suffering of the people.
